Guest Speaker

Ng Wai King is the Managing Partner of WongPartnership LLP and maintains an active M&A practice.

Some of his high-profile M&A transactions include Capitaland’s $11 billion acquisition of Ascendas-Singbridge from Temasek, Nesta consortium’s S$16 billion acquisition of GLP and TCC’s S$11.2 billion winning bid for F&N.  But Wai King remembers most fondly of the effort to acquire Liverpool Football Club on behalf of Peter Lim. A long suffering Liverpool fan, the recent Champions League win goes some way towards addressing the missed opportunity.

Wai King graduated from NUS with the AV Winslow Prize, and holds an LL.M. from Columbia University where he graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He was recently named as “Lawyer of the Year for Corporate Law” in the 2020 edition of Best Lawyers in Singapore.
